About Play Padel Meadowhall

Play Padel Meadowhall is set to become South Yorkshire’s flagship indoor padel destination, bringing a major new venue to Sheffield’s iconic Meadowhall shopping centre. Subject to planning approval, Play Padel Group has submitted proposals for an eight-court indoor facility designed to make padel even more accessible across the Steel City. The planned club will feature eight state-of-the-art indoor padel courts, alongside a licensed bar and speciality coffee bar, premium changing and shower facilities, and a welcoming social atmosphere. Players and visitors can also look forward to a business lounge with flexible workspace, a warm-up gym area, and a large open-plan space for events and community activity. Expected to open in summer 2026 if approved, the venue aims to create jobs, boost footfall, and support community wellbeing by introducing padel to one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations. The project follows the success of Play Padel Sheffield, which opened in March 2025 at Abbeydale Tennis & Squash Club and has quickly become one of the busiest padel venues in the north. Backed by Play Padel Group’s growing national rollout, Play Padel Meadowhall is positioned to be a standout padel hub for Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire region.
